Our Scholars: Conversations
Meet the Aditya Birla Scholars
The Aditya Birla Scholarship is awarded to students who show not just academic grit but also extra-curricular excellence and have a passion to lead and change the world. We are proud to dedicate this space to all our past Scholars and invite them to share their fascinating journeys in both their academic and professional lives.
After spending a year at IIT Bombay, I transferred to Massachusetts Institute of Technology from where I graduated with a double major in Physics and Mathematics. For the past five years, I have been a graduate student at UC Berkeley. My current area of research is quantum gravity and string theory. I will soon be starting as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania.

I am currently working as an Applied Scientist at Amazon. Prior to this, I completed my PhD in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Throughout my PhD journey, my focus was on transforming the field of computer systems with the aid of machine learning. My research primarily centred around studying the past usage patterns of computer systems and leveraging machine learning algorithms to enhance the system for each individual user.

I have around 10 years of experience across diverse roles in technology service, e-commerce trust & safety, customer service operations, customer experience, and seller experience. I am skilled in building new strategic programmes and teams from scratch and leading them to success. I am currently working at Amazon in Singapore, leading Risk Detection and Seller Experience in the Trust & Safety space worldwide, except North America. Outside of work, I love to travel and I am passionate about exploring new places. I also enjoy playing the drums and guitar.
