So pleased to share with you that our preparations for ushering in the Aditya Birla Scholarships Programme’s Silver Jubilee celebrations are in full swing. As you are all aware, this milestone event is spread over two days. Commencing on the 9th November evening with the Aditya Birla Scholarships felicitation programme Class 2024-25 at a special ceremony at ITC Grand Central, ending with dinner. Mrs. Rajashreeji Birla, our Chairperson, Aditya Birla Scholarships Programme presents the certificates. Our judges on the three different panels (management, law and engineering) share their experiences and impressions of the aspirants and a line of advice. We are most privileged to have luminaries on our panel, all exemplars worthy of emulation. This ceremony is followed by dinner. The ceremony begins at 7:00 pm and dinner is announced at 8:30 pm. We expect all of you to attend this gracious event and cheer the newbies of the year.
You will all be happy to know that we already have over 425 sign ups for the alumni directory. Of these, 170 scholars have confirmed joining in the rejoicement. Another cohort of 170 have tentatively pencilled in their coming. We are hopeful that they will be able to sign up as definitive instead of tentative, informs Ishan. He adds that calendar invites have been sent to those scholars who have filled up the forms pertaining to the requisite details. We believe that they have requested you’ll to complete / rsvp their stay dates (given that some of you may come only on the morning of the 10th of November). This input is critical for our team viz., Madhuri Gharpure, Deodith Menezes and Sachin Bhogle for the room allocations.
For our current scholars and the fresh batch viz. Class of 2024-25, rooms will be on a twin sharing basis. The earlier scholars will have a room to themselves. Their spouses / a parent can share the room with them. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the designated places will be taken care of by us, all extras will have to be borne by the scholars. Likewise, travel to and fro will have to be taken care of by the scholars, with the exception of those who are on our continuing roster as they are still students.
The programme on the 10th of November morning from 8:30 am up until 4:30 pm is the responsibility of our committee of scholars (Ishan and Prashant, supported by Anshul Prakash, Shivani Pandey, Swathi Suraj, Lahar Jain and Santanu Goswami). Have requested Ishan to follow-up with you – our scholarships fraternity.
The Silver Jubilee celebrations of our Aditya Birla Scholarships Programme begin on the 10th of November at 5:00 pm with the traditional lamp lighting. A distinctive cultural programme based on the scholarships theme follows. We then have our Chairman, Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla delivering the inaugural address and introducing Prof. Michael Sandel and another distinguished intellectual (we are awaiting confirmation). An interactive session with these illustrious gentlemen forms part of the evening. Mrs. Rajashreeji Birla felicitates them and concludes with an expression of gratitude, followed by a sumptuous dinner.
We promise that the 9th and 10th of November will be evenings to remember, and you will return to your destinations enriched and gleeful.
