The National Law
School University, Bangalore
The National Law School University, Bangalore came into existence
in 1986. It signified the culmination of efforts by the judiciary;
the Bar Council of India; the Karnataka Bar Council; the Bangalore
University and the Government of Karnataka to reform legal
education and to establish a centre of excellence for legal
education and research in India. The main purpose of its establishment
is to provide legal education to students which would help
students enter the judiciary in due course by becoming legal
practitioners, academicians, and legal researchers.
The school has made web-based legal education and interaction
a reality and has facilitated the use of technological aids
in classrooms and conference halls.
Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad
Nalsar University of Law, or officially the National Academy
of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), is a legal studies
institution located in Shamirpet, Hyderabad, India. It was
established in 1998. It was ranked first by Outlook magazine
in 2012. NALSAR students have excelled in mooting at the national
and international level. NALSAR was ranked amongst the top
four in the world at the international rounds of the Philip
C. Jessup Moot Court Competition 2006 at Washington D.C.
National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata
NUJS was established in 1999 by the Bar Council of India,
in conjunction with the government of West Bengal. The Law
Monthly magazine rates NUJS as a tier-one law school, jointly
with the NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, and the National
Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, and says
that NUJS's placement process is at par with the other two
colleges in the top tier.
Students have won numerous encomiums at national and international
Moot Court competitions. In 2003, NUJS became the only Indian
and second Asian college to win the Willem C. Vis International
Commercial Arbitration Moot, held at Vienna.
National Law University, Jodhpur
The National Law University, Jodhpur, was set up in 1999.
It is an autonomous law university and one of the most prestigious
law schools in the country. At the university, study of
law is coupled with other disciplines such as science, management
science and policy sciences. The university practices various
methodologies of teaching and learning process such as co-operative
teaching, case studies, lecture demonstration, group discussions,
and self-conducted research. As a teaching-learning process,
courtroom exercises are an integral part of the curriculum
from the very first year.
The Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is a statutory university established by the government of Gujarat, India. The university is located is located 7 kilometres north of the city of Ahmedabad at Koba, Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat . It follows a five-year integrated LL.B structure
preferred by the Bar Council of India and was ranked as the 5th Best Law School in the country in the year 2012.
The University is recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and University
Grants Commission (UGC). The University is also member of the Association
of Indian Universities (AIU) and it functions as nodal agency to uplift the
legal education in the State of Gujarat.
